Welp… (as my sister says)

Thursday, May 28th, 2009 by Miranda

Welp… we’ve had a busy week- definately looking forward to FRIDAY and the weekend!!  Memorial Day weekend was filled with fun– Saturday we went to the Kenny concert in Columbus. Also managed to get alittle shopping in down at Easton! Sunday and Monday we built a deck! Correction, my dad and Ryan built a deck…. I helped with one of the post holes and then quit. But my mom and I did end up having to go to Home Depot 3 times for the boys. How do you underestimate something by over half?!?!?! Anyways, while the boys were building, my mom and I cooked and worked on the flower bed behind the garage– and thanks to the boys, we have a perfectly level swing.  It was exhausting though!! Pictures coming soon (after my mom sends them to me…hint hint!).

Let’s see… what else? Denali turned 16 weeks today!! We’ve been teaching her to ring a bell on the patio door when she needs to go potty. Ryan called me today to tell me that she put her nose on the bell– twice– and then went potty outside!! Yay for potty training!! :) I really can’t wait for the day we can put the papertowels and pet spray away! Along the lines of pets, Jelly lost his first tooth! (Yes kittens lose their teeth). He was keeping it in his fur… kind of gross. We were supposed to have an appointment with the “dog whisperer” Wednesday night- but apparently he forgot to put us in his blackberry so he never showed. I guess technology can only get you so far…. We’re rescheduled for next Friday June 5th.

On the wedding front– we have a photographer!! :) We will be meeting with him Wednesday June 3rd! He was my sis’s photographer for her wedding and we loved him so there’s no question! He actually had June 26th already booked until recently- the other person changed her date to June 19th so we got LUCKY!!!

That’s all folks!! (for now!)

2 pups and a cat…

Friday, May 22nd, 2009 by Miranda

For the next week, we’ll have 2 dogs and a cat in the house. So far so good with the pups- everyone is laying around and chewing on bones and what not. No blood shed, little to no barking… surprisingly peaceful. Tomorrow will be a week since we adopted Nali… we’ve been taking her on lots of walks and even gave her a kiddie cone at the ice cream place down the street.

We decided on a reception venue–Silver Lake Country Club. It only took about a month to make a final decision- but after looking at what seemed like a million places, we can make our decision happily. We just have to sign the contract and give our deposit. Now the REAL fun starts!! Looking at dresses, picking centerpieces, talking to florists, etc. Although we do still need to find a church!!

For this weekend- tomorrow we’re going down to C-bus for the Kenny concert!! (a surprise birthday present from my hunny). Sunday and Monday we will be building the extension on the deck and landscaping- volunteers are welcome to come help!!

Website Updates

Thursday, May 21st, 2009 by Ryan

Just wanted to let everyone know that we’ve added a picture gallery to our website. Our guest book is also up and running if you’d like to leave us a comment. We also added some stuff to the homepage… and may make some changes on the Locations page pretty soon. Stay tuned!

The kids

Monday, May 18th, 2009 by Miranda

Just an update on how the kids are getting along… Denali has had quite a few “accidents” but she’s learning. She  had a dry crate last night and all day while we were at work! Not sure what is going on between Denali and Jelly- they play but then Jelly ends up crying like someone is killing him. Hopefully they will get along better soon- it’s kind of stressful to break them up all the time.

Wedding: We don’t have anymore appointments for reception halls coming up- so I think we’re ALMOST ready to make our final decision! :) The church hunt continues- and we still think HCC sucks!

Well, we’re off to play with Denali in the yard!! (Sorry that was a pretty boring post!)

Our NEW addition…

Saturday, May 16th, 2009 by Miranda

After we were a half hour late to Stan Hywet, we went to visit a German shepherd breeder in Medina. We were originally going to wait until July 4th to get an 8 week old puppy, but 14 week old Denali wanted to come home with us today! Her name at the breeder’s was “Sapphire”, but we changed it :) . We’ve only had one “accident” in the car– on Ryan’s winter hat– and one “accident” in the house. I think she peed on his hat for easy clean up. She was just helping us out!! Denali and Jelly seem to be getting along rather well. Jelly hisses sometimes, but they have been romping around and playing. We took Denali to Petsmart (since we were not prepared to bring a puppy home today) and she was VERY popular- everyone that walked by us commented on how good she was being and how cute she is! Now she’s sleeping– what a LONG day for her!

Our new addition!

Our new addition!

Well that’s the update of our kids! :)

Wedding Update– Stan Hywet was beautiful but not what we’re looking for in a reception facility so we might just end up taking pictures there!! :) We highly recommend taking a trip out there- it really is gorgeous!!

Stan Hywet, New Blog, etc.

Saturday, May 16th, 2009 by Ryan

I made some changes to our blog yesterday. We went from the free install of Wordpress that came with our hosting package to the full version that I had to install myself. It makes a HUGE difference. This new version allows for much more personalization on our part. So… if anyone subscribed to our blog the other day… you’re going to need to do it again with this new one.

We’re about to take off to visit Stan Hywet Hall… actually we’re running late. Haha. We know it’s going to be beautiful, we’ll see what they can come up with price-wise though. We have a 10 o’clock appointment… better run.

“Penciled in”… and other stuff

Friday, May 15th, 2009 by Miranda

So apparently we’re in the market for a new church- for the wedding and for life in general. “Penciled in”? I guess it doesn’t always mean what you think it does. According to Hudson Community Chapel- it means SQUAT! and they subscribe to the belief that “money talks”. In a nut shell, we were penciled in for June 26, 2010 and sending in our deposit/application in order for it to be finalized. They gave away our date last week sometime and didn’t bother to let us know. That being said, we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow- first, we’re checking out Stan Hywett for a potential reception hall, then traveling to Medina to put a hefty deposit on the next member of our family, and then to check out the church at Hale Farm :) . Silver Lakes Country Club is still on the top of our list for reception halls– we’re “penciled in” there– hopefully that means more at SLCC than it did at HCC.  That’s the latest as of now… Stay tuned…

Kisses in San Juan

Kisses in San Juan

Hello everyone! Welcome to our wedding blog. Our wedding is just a few (13) short months away and we couldn’t be more excited. Our intent is to use this blog to keep everyone up to date on what’s going on in our world. Keep checking back for info on what we’re doing, posts of recent pictures and anything else that might pop into our head. If you’re reading this… you most likely came from our under construction wedding site, but just in case you didn’t, you can check it out here.
