Welp… we’re back in the states. I’m posting this from my phone while riding in the shuttle to the airport! We had a great, relaxing vacation. Now we can’t wait to get back and see our kids… Even though jelly will be pissed at us for a few days.

We’re back!!!
Sunday, February 28th, 2010 by RyanGreat News!
Friday, February 19th, 2010 by MirandaIhop (see previous post) has been adopted! YAY!! I looked her up on petfinder again just to check on her… and she wasn’t there- so I called the humane society and she has been adopted!
I was also checking out a blue American Staffordshire terrier puppy who has also been adopted this week! I’m so excited these pups are finding homes! Nick is the next pup I’ll be watching for (see below). Isn’t he adorable?!?!?
Look at those puppy eyes!! They remind me of Nali!! Some more exciting news is that if a few things happen within the next month… and he still has not been adopted- we’re going to go meet him and see if he’s a good fit for our family
I also wanted to share this picture of Grandpa and Gideon… it’s one of my favorites!!
Denali is FAMOUS!!
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by MirandaOk, ok… SHE’S not actually famous. But, I was looking around online and came across the Westminster Kennel Club website. It turns out the Best in Breed for the german shepherds is from Kridler’s German Shepherds in Lima, Ohio. Click here for her picture. Well, guess what- that’s where Denali’s MOM is from! Anyways, I thought that was pretty cool.
Miranda can cook!!!
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 by RyanYesterday my wonderful wife-to-be had the day off (crazy government holidays). She spent the day hanging out with Nali and Jelly. She also “baked” me a roast. It was fantastic! You would never know that she doesn’t eat meat. The roast was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. She also made me gravy (thick, just the way I like it), mashed potatoes, corn and homemade bread! It was a feast and I loved it. I’m already excited to go home for lunch to have my leftovers!
Cha-cha-changes…
Monday, February 8th, 2010 by MirandaI’m an Aunt. That’s real weird. Of course, I have been ”Auntie Toot” to Emily for the past year… but this is different. My SISTER has a BABY! MY SISTER is a MOM?? What happened to the days of playing Boxcar Children and picking mulberries? Or playing house in the basement with a refrigerator box? Or my sister bossing us kids around being the “teacher” EVERY TIME we played school?? (she was really strict!) And in 4 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days… I’m going to be a WIFE?? Seriously?? I’m not sure which one is weirder to me– going to be a wife or being an Auntie. Either way, I think I’m starting to freak out. Time certainly has gone by quick– seems like just yesterday the wedding was 14 months away and Candy’s wasn’t even showing! Sheesh.
Gideon is a little man!
Saturday, February 6th, 2010 by MirandaGideon gets to go home tonight and Uncle Dryan and Auntie Toot got to pick out his coming home outfit. Since I happen to love a man in a sweater vest…. of course that’s what I picked
He’s such a handsome little devil!!

What a lil stud!
Welcome to the world!
Friday, February 5th, 2010 by MirandaWelcome to the world, Gideon Scott! Yep, that’s right- IT’S A BOY!! After months of anticipation, we finally have a nephew. A whopping 9 lbs 8 ozs and 22 inches long. He was born at 8:57 yesterday, Feb 4th! Mom and baby are both happy and healthy.
Ihop
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 by MirandaIhop is my most recent obsession- she is a 1-1.5 year old pit bull/american bulldog mix ( my other 2 favorite breeds besides the German Shepherds, of course). I found her picture online at the humane society and think she’s absolutely adorable. The only problem is convincing my other half that she would be a great addition to the family. She had a broken leg when she was brought to the shelter- hence her name “Ihop” (creative, huh). I look at her picture every day (and sometimes send it to Ryan again). There are so many pets in shelters- it’s so sad. I would adopt them all if I could! Imagine not having a family, or not being played with often, not having someone to come home and love on you. No one being happy to see you. Cold in a lonely crate. I occassionally catch the commercial for the Humane Society of the United States and I’m always upset when I do. Ryan and I have sent in volunteer applications to help at the Humane Society in Peninsula- just waiting to hear back. Maybe I’ll get to play with Ihop and the other abandoned dogs and make their lives happier until I can bring them home. They have all kinds of pets, from rats, hampsters, guinnea pigs, dogs, cats, and even pot belly pigs (they’re better pets than you’d think!). Consider adopting or donating (there are more important things then that new pair of shoes)…
I’m also collecting old cell phones to donate to Petco- proceeds from the donated phones help create responsible pet owners, reduce the number of animals euthanized, rescue animals in crisis, and rehabilitate behavioral issues in pets.
